STPGA Junior Golfer, Katharine Patrick made some noise this week at the USGA Women's Amatuer Public Links at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash. Patrick, fired rounds of 70-71 for a three-under-par, 141 in stroke play to advance to the match play stage as one of the final 64 players in the field. Patrick went on to win her first match, defeating Alice Kim of Honolulu, Hawaii on the 20th hole. Her run however, came to an end in the round of 32 by narrow defeat to Ji Eun Baik of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Katharine Patrick's string of exceptional golf has not gone unnoticed. Having just won the STPGA's Junior PGA Championship Qualifier at Augusta Pines last month, Patrick has since verbally committed to play golf at The University of Virginia.
