Southern Texas PGA Announces 4th Annual Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches Team

SPRING, TX --- The Southern Texas PGA announced its team for the 4th Annual Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches on Tuesday. The event is an annual competition between the Southern and Northern Texas PGA Junior Tours’ top six boys and top six girls aged 13-18. The Matches provide a unique, one of a kind experience for each Tour’s best playing junior golfers.
The Ryder Cup-style format features 12 junior golfers from each Tour competing in 18-hole Four-Ball and 9-hole Foursomes the first day, followed by 18-hole Singles Matches the final day. Squaw Creek Golf Course will play host to the event from August 5-6 with the Northern Texas PGA conducting.
Members from the Southern Texas PGA team qualified to compete via Srixon Prestige Tour events.

Serving as captains of the Southern Texas PGA team will be former STPGA Junior Golf Members Will Holcomb and Ariana Saenz. Holcomb, who started in the STPGA Junior Tour in 2011, is now a member of the Sam Houston State University Men’s Golf team. Saenz, the Porter, Texas native, started in the STPGA Junior Golf Program in 2011 and quickly moved through the ranks. In 2015, she was a Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalist and finished sixth overall. The 2017 Kingwood Park High School graduate is now a member of the University of Houston Women’s Golf team.
The Northern Texas PGA leads the matches with a 3-0-0 overall record. 
The STPGA Junior Golf program is one of the four pillars of PGA Reach Southern Texas. The program administers six different junior golf programs and is part owner of a seventh.  In total, it runs over 400 junior golf tournaments with nearly 4,500 unique juniors ages 6-18 each year.  Events are run in all 12 months of the year and are open to juniors of all playing ability.
