THE WOODLANDS, Texas ---
Southern Texas PGA Foundation in partnership with Team Reed Foundation are excited to announce the establishment of the first ever Patrick Reed Scholarship funded by the Team Reed Foundation. This scholarship will be awarded to one graduating high school senior in 2019 in the amount of $10,000.
Established this year by reigning Masters Champion Patrick Reed, the scholarship will focus on a hard-working student on and off the course, who takes on the challenges of life and has high aspirations for his or her future. Team Reed Foundation will also take into account people who are well rounded and have strong letters of recommendation from coaches and teachers.
“Having the opportunity to give back and make a difference is the best part of what we do. We are excited about this new scholarship in partnership with the STPGA,” said Patrick Reed, who grew up playing junior golf in Texas. “Our foundation’s mission is to positively change people’s lives and help the next generation of golfers who work hard realize their dream both academically and athletically in golf. It is an honor for us to work with the STPGA and award the first ever Patrick Reed Scholarship.”
“We are excited to partner with Team Reed,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director for the Southern Texas PGA. “Our scholarship program was started in 1999 and has awarded over $970,000. This scholarship is very special to us coming from a Masters Champion and an individual that wants to positively impact lives.”
All full-time students enrolled in any university or college with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who applied for the 2019-20 Southern Texas PGA Scholarship Program will be eligible. The Patrick Reed Scholarship will be administered by the Southern Texas PGA Foundation and the recipient will be announced on Wednesday, May 1.
