PT Recap: Boys Junior PGA Championship #1

Houston, TX (June 1-2, 2026) – The first Southern Texas exemption into the Junior PGA Championship was granted this week at the 2026 Boys Junior PGA Championship #1 at Bay Oaks Country Club. This Srixon Prestige Tour event also saw exemptions granted to the Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches and The Insperity Tour Championship!


The 2026 Junior PGA Championship will be held July 28-31 at Fields Ranch in Frisco. The course will also host the 2027 PGA Championship as it returns to Texas!

Matthew Burke Claims Boys 15–18 Title at the Boys Jr PGA Championship #1


Matthew Burke's impressive Round 2 performance catapulted him three spots up the Boys 15-18 leaderboard to secure him the victory. His five birdies on Tuesday, with four coming on the front nine, brought him to a total score of 4-under-par for both days. He earned the exemption into the Junior PGA Championship in July and the Hannon-Fields Junior Invitational on the Legends Junior Tour!

Reed Rodriguez Claims Boys 11-14 Title at the Boys Jr PGA Championship #1


Reed Rodriguez improved on his Monday score by six strokes in the second round to give him the win in the Boys 11-14 Division. His six birdies and 29 pars throughout the tournament brought him to a final of 4-over-par! His performance also earned him an exemption to represent Team STPGA at the Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches in August.

Missouri City, TX (August 29-30, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour summer season wrapped up last weekend with the Vortech Contracting H-Town Showdown at Quail Valley Golf Course! Junior golfers played through the Houston heat and completed 36 holes of competitive golf, showcasing their skills and drive in another successful event. New Braunfels, TX (August 15-16, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to New Braunfels, Texas, for the Surf & Turf New Braunfels Showcase at Landa Park Golf Course, where players took on a competitive two-day championship. With great weather throughout the event, the field had ideal conditions to showcase their skills and battle for the top spots. Players delivered strong performances from start to finish, with steady play and impressive moments shaping the leaderboard across both rounds. As the competition came down to the final holes, the talented field once again showcased the skill, determination and competitive spirit that define the Srixon Prestige Tour. Plenty of Golf Still This Fall at the STPGA!

Spring, TX - Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of golf ahead at the Southern Texas PGA! With opportunities to qualify for Team STPGA, championship events, Drive, Chip & Putt competition and more than 100 events remaining across STPGA Junior Golf programs, the fall season is set to be an exciting one. Qualify for the Bayou Cup The road to the Bayou Cup continues this fall as junior golfers compete for the opportunity to represent Team STPGA. Players still have opportunities to earn their spot and compete alongside some of the top junior golfers in Southern Texas. Below are the upcoming events where players can earn an exemption toward a spot on Team STPGA for this year’s Bayou Cup. Boys 15-18: - Surf & Turf New Braunfels Showcase (August 15-16, 2026) - Boys 15-18 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) Boys 11-14: - Antigua Sun City Showdown (September 26-27, 2026) - Boys 11-14 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) Girls 11-18: - Antigua Sun City Showdown (September 26-27, 2026) - Girls 11-18 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) The Bayou Cup is always a highlight on the STPGA Junior Golf calendar, giving players the opportunity to represent Southern Texas in a team competition and create memories both on and off the course.
