The STPGA is excited to introduce our new Junior Golf Coordinator, Claire Calabro. We are thrilled to have her on board the team and are eager to see her grow the game for our junior golfers!  Here's a little more about her:

Major: Global Club Management and Leadership.

Favorite Food: I'll always order chicken tenders.

Who is your favorite artist?  Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, or Harry Styles
What is your favorite song?  Right now, I'm really obsessed with Fins by Jimmy Buffett.

Favorite Course You’ve Been To: Definitely Adare Manor!

What’s your favorite golf memory? Anytime I get a birdie!

What’s one thing people don’t know about you? In college, my roommates and I raised butterflies in our apartment.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?: I love coffee, so I would probably start at a coffee shop I haven't tried before and then take my time walking around a book store or doing a bit of shopping.

What was your first job? I was a hostess at a restaurant.
What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from Texas? Auckland, New Zealand

What are some of your favorite hobbies, and how did you get into them? I love a good craft! I taught myself to needlepoint and crochet and love how peaceful it is. I also love to read or see new movies.

How were you first introduced to golf? I was first introduced through my major in college! I worked The Player's Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and fell in love with the tournament atmosphere.

What did you want to be when you were little? A pop star (before I realized I can't sing and have no rhythm)
Who is your favorite PGA TOUR Pro? Why? Probably Shane Lowry. I met him after his hole-in-one at The Players in 2022 and have been a fan ever since.

What is your favorite sport outside of golf? Probably football or hockey!

Do you have a favorite quote or motto you live by?  "You never know if you never try!"

PT Recap: Vortech Contracting H-Town Showdown

Missouri City, TX (August 29-30, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour summer season wrapped up last weekend with the Vortech Contracting H-Town Showdown at Quail Valley Golf Course! Junior golfers played through the Houston heat and completed 36 holes of competitive golf, showcasing their skills and drive in another successful event. New Braunfels, TX (August 15-16, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to New Braunfels, Texas, for the Surf & Turf New Braunfels Showcase at Landa Park Golf Course, where players took on a competitive two-day championship. With great weather throughout the event, the field had ideal conditions to showcase their skills and battle for the top spots. Players delivered strong performances from start to finish, with steady play and impressive moments shaping the leaderboard across both rounds. As the competition came down to the final holes, the talented field once again showcased the skill, determination and competitive spirit that define the Srixon Prestige Tour. Plenty of Golf Still This Fall at the STPGA!

Spring, TX - Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of golf ahead at the Southern Texas PGA! With opportunities to qualify for Team STPGA, championship events, Drive, Chip & Putt competition and more than 100 events remaining across STPGA Junior Golf programs, the fall season is set to be an exciting one. Qualify for the Bayou Cup The road to the Bayou Cup continues this fall as junior golfers compete for the opportunity to represent Team STPGA. Players still have opportunities to earn their spot and compete alongside some of the top junior golfers in Southern Texas. Below are the upcoming events where players can earn an exemption toward a spot on Team STPGA for this year’s Bayou Cup. Boys 15-18: - Surf & Turf New Braunfels Showcase (August 15-16, 2026) - Boys 15-18 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) Boys 11-14: - Antigua Sun City Showdown (September 26-27, 2026) - Boys 11-14 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) Girls 11-18: - Antigua Sun City Showdown (September 26-27, 2026) - Girls 11-18 Points List Leader (as of October 1, 2026) The Bayou Cup is always a highlight on the STPGA Junior Golf calendar, giving players the opportunity to represent Southern Texas in a team competition and create memories both on and off the course.
