The STPGA is excited to welcome back Natalia Facchinato-Sitja as our new PGA Works Fellow. We are thrilled to have her on the team and are eager to see her grow the game for our Junior Golf Program!  Here's a little more about her:

Favorite Course You’ve Been To: The Covey at Big Easy Ranch

What’s your favorite golf memory? A young girl at a Little Linksters tournament said she felt awkward with all of her pink things (golf bag, outfit, etc.) while playing with the boys. At the next tournament, I wore all pink with her, and the joy she showed seeing an older girl embrace pink out on the golf course was the highlight of the tournament. I now try to wear my pink outfit when I work LL in case she is signed up!

What’s one thing people don’t know about you? I was a coxswain for men's rowing teams for 12 years!

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?: I usually go to church, the gym (lifting queen), do my meal prep for the week, and read a book.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from Texas? Barcelona, Spain

What are some of your favorite hobbies? I love playing pickleball with my friends as well as lifting and crocheting.

How were you first introduced to golf? Before the STPGA, I had some friends that played collegiate golf but had little exposure to the game. I applied to the Operations Internship with the STPGA last year and that position was my first deep dive into the sport and what it takes to run it.

What did you want to be when you were little? Cinderella.

What is your favorite sport outside of golf? Rowing and hockey.

What's your go-to karaoke song? Inside Out by Kate Staford

Do you have a favorite quote or motto you live by?  "Always show others kindness because you never know who you might be speaking with."

San Antonio, TX (April 18-19, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour went back to San Antonio this past weekend for the 2026 Alamo City Shootout, hosted at Cedar Creek Golf Course! Our junior golfers battled through challenging weather conditions and a competitive field to show off their impressive skills. Abraham Ancer and STPGA Enter 3rd Year of Partnership

Partnership centered around impacting the next generation through grants, scholarships, and a showcase junior golf event. San Antonio, TX (April 17, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA could not be more excited to continue our partnership with former STPGA Junior Golfer and World Class Professional Golfer Abraham Ancer. Started in 2024, the relationship features the Abraham Ancer Classic on the Srixon Prestige Tour, College Scholarships, and money awarded specifically to families to help introduce golf to the next generation. “This is a full circle moment for the STPGA,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director for the STPGA. “From growing up in our program in The Valley to supporting the program financially, we are extremely grateful for his time, investment, and motivation towards helping the next generation.” The third Annual Abraham Ancer Classic will be adding a new chapter in November, when the event visits the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, TX, after being played the last two years at Oak Hills Country Club. The event will be held during Thanksgiving week on November 23-24 and will be the STPGA’s first time hosting a junior golf event at Cordillera Ranch, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, ranked among the best in the State! “The STPGA does an awesome job growing the game, providing scholarships, and running high quality events,” said Ancer who was born in McAllen, TX and raised in Reynosa, Mexico. Ancer grew up playing at Reynosa Country Club and traveled to Southern Texas to compete in STPGA events, where he was the STPGA Valley Area Champion for his division in 2005. “I feel it is only right to give back, get engaged with the next generation, and make a difference!” In addition, Abraham will continue to support our College Scholarship Program and our Dick Harmon Participation Grant. This ties together his value in helping people with their education and then introducing the game to people that might not be able to afford tournament golf! The STPGA appreciates Abraham Ancer’s time and commitment and look forward to an awesome year together!

Pearland, TX (April 11-12, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour continued its spring season with the Spring Fling at Pearland Golf Club, where junior golfers took on another exciting stop on the schedule. With good weather and just a slight wind throughout the tournament, players were able to showcase their skills and shot-making ability across both rounds, creating a competitive and high-energy field from start to finish. The Bayou Cup Returns to Big Easy as Team STPGA Sets Sights on First Title

Elite junior golfers from Southern Texas and Louisiana will have the opportunity to compete at the event. SPRING, TX (April 7, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA is proud to announce the return of The Bayou Cup for the second year as Team STPGA looks to bring the trophy to Southern Texas for the first time. The 2026 matches, presented by Srixon and Adidas, will be hosted once again at Big Easy Ranch from December 4-6, providing a championship-caliber stage and unforgettable experience for top junior golfers. Held in partnership with the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour and the Gulf States PGA, the event features a Ryder Cup-style format designed to challenge elite players through team competition. Each team consists of 12 junior golfers from each tour with representatives from three age divisions: Boys 15-18, Girls 11-18, and Boys 11-14. Team STPGA will be formed through standout performances by golfers at Srixon Prestige Tour tournaments from late July to September. Champions of the following events, along with points list leaders, will make up the 2026 roster: Boys 15-18 The Insperity Tour Championship: July 20-21 at Boot Ranch STPGA Challenge: August 10-11 at BlackHorse Golf Club Surf and Turf New Braunfels Showcase: August 15-16 at Landa Park Golf Course Boys 15-18 Points List Leader as of October 1, 2026 Girls 11-18 The Insperity Tour Championship: July 20-21 at Boot Ranch STPGA Challenge: August 10-11 at BlackHorse Golf Club Antigua Sun City Showdown: September 26-27 at White Wing Golf Club Girls 11-18 Points List Leader as of October 1, 2026 Boys 11-14 Vortech Contracting H-Town Showdown: August 29-30 at Quail Valley Golf Club Brackenridge Park Classic: September 12-13 at Brackenridge Park Golf Course Antigua Sun City Showdown: September 26-27 at White Wing Golf Club Boys 11-14 Points List Leader as of October 1, 2026 The inaugural Bayou Cup matches were held in December 2025 and saw Team LJGT claim a 15-9 victory.
