The Summer Series is the largest series in the STPGA Junior Golf Program. It commences the week after school concludes and runs for a total of ten weeks. Tournaments are held throughout the week with a few weekend events. The tournament schedule is split into 7 metro areas to allow juniors to play in tournament close to home. However, your membership still allows you to play in any tournament that you are age eligible for the applicable tournament registration fee.
Our seven metro areas are Austin, Beaumont, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, Houston, Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio. Our Summer Series features all five of our programs.
During the 2016 Summer Series, players will be placed in a division based off their age as of August 11, 2016. This will allow players to participate in the same division the entire summer and earn points in one division.
After each tournament during the fall, points will be awarded to decide who receives an invitation to the Fall Series Junior Championships. An outline of how many points are awarded at each event is listed below.
Please note: Since the Bridgestone Golf Prestige Tour has its own Points List and Tour Championship, players will only be invited to the Spring Championship based off the Little Linksters and Junior Tour points list. Prestige Tour points will NOT be counted on the Junior Tour points list like previous years.
You must play in at least a nine hole division in order to get points.
PLEASE NOTE: The Fall Series Championship is an invitation only event and the field is a direct representation of our entire program based off both the amount of people in both metro area and age division. When looking at the point lists, change the search criteria to your correct metro area and age division. The invitation breakdown will be sent out in early October. There will be 5 metro areas; Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio, and The Valley. Players can play in any event in any metro area and count towards their point list. Bryan/College Station players will feed into Austin or Houston depending on what events they play in. Beaumont players will feed into Houston.

At each Junior Tour and Little Linksters tournament from May to August, players will earn points based off what place they come in at each tournament. In late July, the STPGA will outline how many players at the end of the summer will receive an invitation based off their points in the Summer Series. Due to how large our program is, we split up our invitations based off division and metro area. The championship field is a direct representation of our entire program based off both the amount of people in both metro area and age division.
For example, at the end of the summer (Aug 5) the STPGA will invite the Top 3 on the Austin Little Linksters Points List in the Girls 9-10 9-hole Modified Division.
Please note: Since the Bridgestone Golf Prestige Tour has its own Points List and Tour Championship, players will ONLY be invited to the Summer Championship based off the Little Linksters and Junior Tour points list. Prestige Tour points will NOT be counted on the Junior Tour points list like pervious years.
If your goal is to make it to this Championship, make sure to play enough Little Linkster or Junior Tour tournaments.
When looking at the Points List, make sure to organize the points list by metro area. Our invitations are given out by August 4 based off division AND metro area.
