COVID-19 Updates for STPGA Junior Golf

The STPGA will continue to communicate updates as they relate to our Junior Golf program and upcoming events. Our top priority is always the well-being of our Junior Golfers, Members, and staff.

All STPGA Junior Golf Events Postponed Through May 4th

Following the nation-wide Social Distancing guidelines that have been extended, the STPGA has made the decision to postpone or cancel all Junior Golf events through Monday, May 4, 2020. This includes:

  • Prestige Tour San Antonio Open: Originally scheduled for April 18-19, this event has been rescheduled for May 9-10
  • STPGA Spring Series Championship : Originally scheduled for April 25-26, this event has unfortunately been canceled
  • Accent Compliance Prestige Tour Open : Originally scheduled for May 2-3 has been canceled
  • Little Linksters, Junior Links, Junior Tour, and Parent-Junior Events: Players registered for any of these events during this time will receive a direct email informing of postponement or cancelation by the end of this week. In either situation, players are entitled to a full refund back to their original payment method.
 Additional Updates Coming April 14

The STPGA staff is hard at work monitoring the current situation and working to reschedule as many events as possible while keeping the safety of all in mind. Further updates regarding STPGA Junior Golf will be announced by Tuesday, April 14th. These updates will include:

  • A date announcement for the opening of Summer Series registration
  • A new May schedule
  • New qualification criteria for the 2020 Texas Junior Cup Matches
  • Updates on the Facility Discount Program
  • Shipping updates for 2020 Membership Boxes
  • New Tournament Safety Procedures 
 
The Southern Texas PGA understands that this is a difficult time for everyone. We want to get back to tournaments and building lifelong golfers as soon as possible, but we must ensure the safety of all participants. We encourage you to follow us on social media, practice putting in your house (with your parent's permission of course!), and follow Social Distancing measures.

Cypress, TX (March 16-17, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour continued its spring season with the Rocket City Open, held March 16–17, as junior golfers took on a competitive field in another exciting Monday–Tuesday event. Battling through challenging conditions, players faced strong winds and cold temperatures that tested their resilience and shot-making across both rounds. Despite the harsh weather, the event showcased incredible determination and high-level play from start to finish.  A big thank you to our host facility, our players and parents, our Title Partner Srixon, and all of our staff who helped make the tournament a success. Spicewood, TX (March 16-17, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour returned for another Monday-Tuesday event with the 2026 Shootout in the Hills, held at Lakecliff Golf Club. With multiple exemptions on the line, junior golfers faced a competitive field and up-and-down weather conditions that made for an exciting two days of golf. Katy, TX (March 9-10, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour held its first Monday-Tuesday event of the year with the 2026 Spring Break Classic at The Club at Falcon Point. Junior golfers experienced beautiful weather and course conditions and had strong performances through two rounds of golf. San Antonio, TX (March 7-8, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to San Antonio this past weekend for the Hill Country Open , held March 7–8 at the Hill Country Golf Club. Despite rainy and challenging weather conditions, junior golfers showed great determination during the tournament. Due to the weather, the event was only able to complete the first round, but players still delivered a strong day of competitive golf, making it another memorable stop on the 2026 Srixon Prestige Tour. Congratulations to Lia Beyer, and our Boys 15-18 Champion, Diego Amour for earning an invite to the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship , hosted at Boot Ranch on July 20–21, 2026! This prestigious championship brings together top junior talent for an exciting two days of competition at one of Texas’ premier venues. You can find more information about the championship here .
