The Southern Texas PGA is happy to announce our new interns joining the staff for the Fall 2025 season! Please welcome these individuals into our great Section and we look to continue our incredible service and grow the game!


Operations Interns

Ryan Amyx


Hello, My name is Ryan Amyx. I am from Spring, Texas and I graduated from Ole Miss in August of 2025. I majored in sports management and minored in legal studies. I am a big sports fan and love to try new things and I have recently gotten into golf over the last few years. I really enjoy playing and working around the game and I am really excited to see where my career takes me. My main goal for my career is to become a part of something where I can make a positive impact on as many people as possible and so far working with the STPGA has been a blast! 


Fun Fact: I am a big ice hockey fan.

Laura Loredo


Hello! My name is Laura Loredo, and I’m from Houston, Texas. I am a senior studying Sport Administration at the University of Houston, and I’m set to graduate in December. I’m a huge soccer and baseball fan, especially of the Houston Astros and Houston Dynamo, but I’m also excited to explore new areas within the sports world. I’m looking forward to learning more about golf and making a meaningful impact in the sport! I’m eager to grow my knowledge of golf and to be a valuable resource to the STPGA team!


Fun Fact: I enjoy playing sports, trying new arts and crafts, and spending time in nature.

Kara Giallanza


Hey y’all! My name is Kara Giallanza and I am from Cypress, Tx. I recently graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sports Management and a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. Woo Pig Sooie! 


After a great summer with the STPGA, I'm excited to be a part of the fall internship team and continue to expand my knowledge of the sports industry!


Fun Fact: I enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, going to concerts and being outdoors!

Natalia Facchinato-Sitja


Hello, my name is Natalia Facchinato-Sitja, and I am from Washington, D.C. I graduated with my bachelor's in Sports Management from Marietta College in the Spring of 2024. I am currently working towards my master's in professional studies from Georgetown University in Sports Industry Management. I have always loved the passion that sporting events bring out in their fans and the memories they create, so I am thankful for the opportunity to help build these memories for others. I am excited to continue to grow my knowledge of golf and the intricacies of putting on tournaments. 


Fun Fact: I have been a coxswain for men's rowing teams for almost 12 years.


Another fun fact, you will catch me dancing at any given time music is playing.

Amy Sofía Sánchez Estrada


Hola! My name is Sofía Sánchez, I was born and raised in Guatemala City and moved to the U.S. in 2020 for college. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA. with a B.F.A. in Advertising and Branding and a M.A. in Business Leadership. I'm not a golfer, but a bowler and I’ve been part of Guatemala’s national team since I was 14, which has allowed me to travel the world and earn a few medals along the way. I continued my bowling journey at SCAD on a full scholarship, which was an incredible experience.


This internship has been amazing so far, I love everything that has to do with social media. I’ve learned so much about sports from a new perspective. In my free time, I love watching movies and spending time with friends and family.


Fun fact: I have an entire collection of avocado themed objects and keychains from every country I’ve visited!

Martha Sánchez M.


Hello!! My name is Martha Sanchez M and I am one of the Digital Media Interns for Fall 2025. I recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Masters in Creative Business Leadership where I was also a part of the Golf team since 2019. I have been playing golf since I was 4 years old and started competing which then led me to get a scholarship and play college golf at SCAD.


n my free time I like doing artsy and crafty things like crochet, sea shell art, drawing or painting. This internship has allowed me to combine my love for golf and my love for creative work and it has been really fun working with all the staff and the rest of the interns. 


Fun Fact: I once was kissed by a manatee while swimming with them during a lesson. 

STPGA Junior Golfers Will Return to The Insperity Junior Pro-Am for the 21st Year!

SPRING, TX (October 15, 2026) - For the 21st year, the Southern Texas PGA and The Insperity presented by UnitedHealthcare are partnering up in a commitment to grow the game in South Texas. 36 STPGA Junior Golfers will have the unique opportunity to play 9 holes of golf with a PGA Tour Champions professional on a tournament-level course. The 2027 event will take place on Tuesday, April 27 before The Insperity tournament at The Woodlands Country Club – Tournament Course.

PT Recap: Bay Forest Junior Championship

La Porte, TX (October 3-4, 2026) – The Bay Forest Junior Championship continued its 37-year tradition of junior golf at Bay Forest Golf Course this past weekend! Players battled through two rounds, and even with a little rain on Day 2, the players persevered through the conditions. Congratulations to all of our division champions! Adding to the history of this event, the Boys 15–18 and Girls 11–18 overall champions will have their names etched onto the Kiibler Cup forever, becoming part of the tournament’s legacy for years to come. A big thank you to Bay Forest Golf Course, our players, parents, and everyone who helped make this longtime tradition such a great weekend!

Srixon Prestige Tour Remarks - October 2026

Good Evening Players, Parents, & Family Friends, September kicked off an exciting start to Fall on the Srixon Prestige Tour. Srixon Prestige Tour Champions - September September kicked off the Fall with exciting weekend events, starting in San Antonio as the Srixon Prestige Tour visited the historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course for the Cavender Buick GMC North Brackenridge Park Classic , and scores did not disappoint. Gavin Swearengin of San Antonio, TX, started off strong and did not look back. Swearengin topped it off with a 7-under 28 on the back nine in Round 2 to finish 15-under par and claim his first Boys 15-18 win of the year. In the Overall Girls Division, Jessie Lee of San Antonio, TX, claimed her third win of the year after impressive rounds of 5-under and 3-under to secure a 5-shot victory, adding another impressive finish to an outstanding year. Cort Cage of Montgomery, TX, battled his way to his first career win in the Boys 11-14. Cage fired a 4-under 31 on the back nine in Round 2, but no birdie was more important than his birdie putt on the 18th hole, which gave him a 1-shot edge and crowned him a champion. The following week, the Srixon Prestige Tour headed west of San Antonio for The Cowboy Cup at Flying L Ranch Golf Course, where players continued to go low. Braxton Simpson of Kerrville, TX, captured his first career Boys 15-18 title. Simpson had consistent rounds, firing a 4-under 68 in Round 1, and kept that momentum going, leading him to a comfortable three-shot victory. For our Overall Girls Division, Pippa Fikes of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, led the way with two impressive under-par rounds and 4 birdies on the last 6 holes in Round 2. This marked Fikes’ 4th overall win of her impressive season. Luke Willis of Horseshoe Bay, TX, outlasted the rest of the field in a close battle to secure his first career Boys 11-14 title. Willis’ round of 78 in Round 2 led him to a 1-shot victory. The last event of September, the Srixon Prestige Tour headed over to Georgetown, TX, for the Antigua Sun City Showdown at White Wing Golf Club. Knox Frazier of Austin, TX, claimed his first career Boys 15-18 win after firing a 2-under 70 in Round 2 and battling it out with 4 other juniors who fell just 1 shot short of Frazier. We had a close battle in the Overall Girls Division as Natalie Vuu of Houston, TX, claimed her second win of the season. Vuu’s birdie on Hole 17 in Round 2 gave her a 1-shot lead after she put together two consistent rounds. Dawson Dial of Cedar Park, TX, claimed his second Boys 11-14 win of the year. Dial had the low round of the day, firing a 3-under 69 in Round 2. Events with Open Spots Available The following events are open for registration. Georgetown, TX (September 26-27, 2026) – Fall competition continued in Georgetown, Texas, as the Srixon Prestige Tour took over White Wing Golf Club for the Antigua Sun City Showdown. Across two rounds of play, juniors navigated the course and battled for the top spots on the leaderboard. By the end of the weekend, four division champions emerged, adding their names to the list of Srixon Prestige Tour winners this season. Congratulations to Tiffany Wong on a strong showing at the Antigua Sun City Showdown! With her performance, Wong earned exemptions into both the 2026 Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational and the 2027 Texas Junior Girls’ Invitational on the Legends Junior Tour. A big thank you to White Wing Golf Club, all of our players and parents, our Title Partner Srixon, and Antigua, the Title Sponsor of the event for helping make the weekend a memorable one.
