Policies & Procedures Update

Changes take effect beginning June 6, 2020.

The message below was sent to all STPGA Junior Golf Members via email on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. CT.

Good morning Junior Golf Participants & Parents,
The STPGA Junior Golf Program, in conjunction with Governor Abbott’s announcement of Texas entering Phase 3 on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, has made updates to the COVID-19 Junior Golf Policies & Procedures. These updated policies and procedures will take effect starting on Saturday, June 6, 2020.

Below is a list of changes that were made:


Arrival Time
  • There will no longer be a restriction on when Junior Golfers are able to arrive at the host facility.

Spectators
  • There will no longer be restrictions on the number of spectators able to attend any STPGA Junior Golf event.

Turn Scores
  • Turn scores will now be collected at all Srixon Prestige Tour events.

Practice Facilities
  • STPGA Junior Golfers will now be able to utilize the driving range and putting/chipping greens without restriction other than what the facility itself imposes.

Playoffs
  • Playoffs will resume at all STPGA Junior Golf events.

Awards
  • Award ceremonies will resume based on certain facility factors.

Registration
  • Registration will resume at all Little Linksters, Junior Links, and Junior Tour events. Srixon Prestige Tour will not feature a registration area.

Weather Delays
  • The STPGA will resume weather delays in which play is not automatically canceled. The STPGA will continue to encourage social distancing during these delays and communicate via text message or email.

Please note that these are the changes to the Southern Texas PGA COVID-19 Junior Golf Policies & Procedures and the rest of the Policies & Procedures listed in the document linked above will remain in effect.

San Antonio, TX (June 15-16, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour made its way to San Antonio this week for the Boys & Girls Junior PGA Championship #2 at The Quarry Golf Course. While rain pushed back the start of competition on day one, players remained patient and ready to compete. Once play got underway, the field showcased impressive performances throughout the championship. Day two brought beautiful weather and ideal scoring conditions, setting the stage for a strong finish as players battled for titles and valuable points in one of the premier events of the summer season. Kingsland, TX (June 8-9, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to Kingsland, Texas, for the Bluebonnet Classic, held at Legends Golf Course. Over two days of competition, players from across Southern Texas put their skills to the test across 36 holes, competing for division titles, valuable points, and championship exemptions. The event showcased some of the region's top junior talent and provided another exciting stop on the Prestige Tour schedule as golfers continued their pursuit of success throughout the 2026 season. In addition to the division champions earning exemptions, two more players secured valuable opportunities through their performances at the Bluebonnet Classic. Jackson Tennant earned exemptions into the Hannon-Fields Junior Invitational and Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches, while Caleb Patrick claimed an exemption into the 2026 Insperity Tour Championship. Both players put together strong performances over the two-day event and will have the chance to compete on some of junior golf's biggest stages later this year. Richmond, TX (June 8-9, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour stayed in the Houston Metro for the Girls Junior PGA Championship #1 this week, where Black Hawk Country Club hosted a competitive event across two days. The tournament saw the first exemption given out to the Southern Texas girls for the Junior PGA Championship, alongside exemptions to the Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches, the Hannon-Fields Junior Invitational on the Legends Junior Tour, and The Insperity Tour Championship! The 2026 Junior PGA Championship will be held July 28-31 at Fields Ranch in Frisco. The course will also host the 2027 PGA Championship as it returns to Texas! This Srixon Prestige Tour event also saw exemptions granted to the Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches and The Insperity Tour Championship! The 2026 Junior PGA Championship will be held July 28-31 at Fields Ranch in Frisco. The course will also host the 2027 PGA Championship as it returns to Texas!
