CONROE, TEXAS (March 16 - 17, 2023) - STPGA Junior Golf rounded out its Spring Break week with the Srixon Billiard Factory Lake Conroe Challenge, hosted at The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort. Braving the cold and rain during the two days, 67 junior golfers hit the course for a chance to become a champion.

In the Overall Girls Division, Syna Nijhawan of Houston finished Round One with a (+7) 78, falling short of the lead by two strokes and leaving her tied for fourth place with two other players. Syna was able to battle her way to the top after improving to (+3) 74 for Round Two, and just barely edging out Mary Kerr of Friendswood who improved her score by seven strokes on the second day, leaving her just one stroke behind Syna. With finishing in the top two spots of the Overall Girls Division, Syna and Mary earned an exemption into The Chevron Championship Junior Legacy Pro-Am on Wednesday, April 19 at The Woodlands Country Club.

In the Overall Boys Division, Jack Byrd of Montgomery came ready for a challenge as he looked for his first win on the Prestige Tour. Jack trailed behind Deacon Bauershlag of Bellville and Duke Heise of Spring, with Jack sitting in solo third after his (+2) 73 Round One. With a bogey-free back-nine, Jack was able to climb up the leaderboard to earn his first win with a two-day total of (+4) 146. This is Jack’s seventh top-10 finish since he became a member in 2019.
