2025 Spring Championship Crowns 15 New Victors

FIRST OF THREE SEASON ENDING CHAMPIONSHIPS CROWNS 15 NEW STPGA SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORS

COLLEGE STATION, TX (APRIL 26-27, 2025) - Fifteen Champions were named at the 2025 Spring Championship at The Golf Club at Texas A&M. Champions were crowned from Little Linksters and Junior Tour, and for the first time ever, the Junior Links division competed in this season ending championship! In addition to crowning our spring season champions, an incredible opportunity to qualify for the 14th Annual Texas Junior Cup Matches was on the line this weekend. Players in the 15-18 divisions of Junior Tour also had the exciting opportunity to qualify for the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship!

LITTLE LINKSTERS CHAMPIONS


Henry Nieto of Montgomery, TX earned his career best finish at a season ending championship. Carding a 38-39 for a tournament total of 77 (+5). 



Henry said, "This was a great weekend that I got to spend with my mom and dad at Texas A&M and when I got two birdies during round one that really was the icing on the cake."


Chloe Roy of Portland, TX claimed her title in the Little Linksters Girls 9-10 division. Starting off strong carding a 1-under-par, 35 during round one, followed by a 36 (E) in round two for a tournament total of 71 (-1). 


Chloe said, "I'm happy to win with my family supporting me, and I hope that this win will encourage me to continue to grow and play even better in my next event."


Teddy Sullivan of Spring, TX claimed his ninth title of the year and first ever championship victory in the Little Linksters Boys 9-10 division. After carding an impressive 1-under-par, 34 in the first round he kept the momentum finishing day two carding a 34 (E) for a tournament total of 69 (-1).


Teddy told us, "It's an honor to be here playing at a great STPGA event and to earn an exemption into the Texas Junior Cup matches will hopefully be a small part of my large future career."


Alaina Villarreal of Richmond, TX started off strong in the Little Linksters Girls 11-12 division shooting a 2-under-par, 33 followed up by a solid 35 (E) bringing her to a tournament total of 68 (-2). 


Alaina said, "This was such a great event with awesome competition, I came into it knowing I've been working hard and to not only win but to also earn the exemption into the Texas Junior Cup matches means so much to me."


Andrew Moreno II of Austin, TX clinched his first championship title in the Little Linksters Boys 11-12 division. Carding a 37-36 over the two day season ending event, he finished with a tournament total of 73 (+1).


When asked how he prepared for this event, Andrew said, "I practiced, practiced, practiced and worked super hard, it also helps to play such an awesome course."

JUNIOR LINKS CHAMPIONS


Avery Wolfe of Spring, TX earned her fifth title of the year in the Junior Links Girls 13-14 division after making her first STPGA Spring Championship appearance. Shooting a 43-47 over the two rounds for a tournament total of 90 (+18).



Wolfe spoke about The Golf Club at Texas A&M and said, "The weather has been a little crazy but I love every detail that has been put into this course because it makes it super fun, but also a great challenge."


Rolando Laurenzo of Houston, TX earned his second first place victory at a season ending championship after pulling it off back in December as well as today in the Junior Links Boys 13-14 division. He shot a 39 (+4) during round one followed by a 40 (+5) in round two for a tournament total of 79 (+9).


Laurenzo said, "This win really makes me want to keep on pushing myself. I'm proud of how I prepared for this event and hope to continue like that."


Pari Patel of Houston, TX secured her first ever championship victory and her third title of the year in the Junior Links Girls 15-18 division. Shooting a 49-53 over the course of the two rounds, she earned herself a tournament total of 92 (+20). 


Patel told us, " I loved being able to play here but it's even cooler that this is my future favorite campus (hinting at becoming an Aggie), it was an overall great weekend!"


Hezekiah Caldera of Weslaco, TX pulled off an impressive victory after an intense playoff in the Junior Links Boys 15-18 division. After carding a 42-43 over the two day event, he earned himself a tournament total of 85 (+15).


When asked what this win is to him, Caldera said, "It's a pretty big motivator for me, I've been on a bit of a dry streak lately which makes this win even sweeter."

JUNIOR TOUR CHAMPIONS


Jessie Lee of San Antonio, TX secured her victory in the Junior Tour Girls 11-12 division after an impressive showcase of her skills over the two rounds. Lee carded a 3-under-par, 68 in the first round and didn't slow down in the second finishing it with a 2-under-par, 69 for a tournament total of 137 (-5). Her performance also earned her a spot on #TEAMSTPGA at this years Texas Junior Cup Matches.



When asked about her exemption Lee said, "It means a lot to me to follow in my sisters footsteps by playing that event and to be able to represent the STPGA again!"


Reed Rodriguez of Sienna, TX earned his second season ending championship victory, this year in the Junior Tour Boys 11-12 division with a  73 (+2) the first round followed by a 74 (+3) the second round for a tournament total of 147 (+5). 


When asked about how he prepared for this championship Rodriguez says, "I've been working on my putting a lot because I knew it would come into play and it paid off in points in the round"


Carly Hathorn of Missouri City, TX earned her spot and her fourth title of the year in the Junior Tour Girls 13-14 division! Hathorn shot a 75-83 throughout the two rounds for a tournament total of 158 (+16). 


Hathorn said, "This win means a lot to me because I have been preparing for it since last August, I wasn't able to participate in the Fall Championship so this one just meant that much more to me."


Tyler Fasulo of Lumberton, TX brought home the hardware with his first season championship win in the Junior Tour Boys 13-14 division. After carding a 74-73 over the two rounds he finished with a tournament total of 147 (+5).


Fasulo said, "My favorite part of this weekend definitely has to be the environment, to be able to see Kyle Field and hear all the sounds coming from campus makes it really special to be here at Texas A&M."


Mary Jane Philpott of Georgetown, TX came out on top of the Junior Tour Girls 15-18 division shooting a 88-82 over the two day event for a tournament total of 170 (+28). Philpott also earned herself an exemption into the Prestige Tour Insperity Invitational Tour Championship!


Mary Jane said, "It was amazing to be able to play this weekend and meet a bunch of girls I had never met and make new friends! It's always great having the opportunity to play against new opponents."


Mau Solar of Edinburg, TX finally secured his Junior Tour Boys 15-18 championship title after coming in a close second in his division at the 2024 Fall Championship. Shooting a 2-under-par, 69 and following it up with a 75 (+4), he earned himself a tournament total of 144 (+2).


Solar told us, "This win means a lot to me because I came close at the Fall Championship and it was tough, but to finally earn this with such amazing competitors and my family around me is incredible."

Along with being able to compete for the coveted title of Spring Season Champion, juniors in the Little Linksters and Junior Tour divisions also had the opportunity to qualify to play in the 14th annual Texas Junior Cup Matches and the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship. Srixon Prestige Tour Champions - June The month kicked off at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston for the Boys Junior PGA Championship #1 , where players battled for championship glory. Reed Rodriguez of Aledo, TX delivered a clutch Round 2 performance, firing a 1-under-par 71 to secure his first career Boys 11-14 victory. In the Boys 15-18 Division, Matthew Burke of Houston, TX caught fire, using four straight birdies on the front nine during Round 2 to surge ahead and capture his first career victory. The Srixon Prestige Tour then stayed in Houston for the Girls Junior PGA Championship #1 at Black Hawk Country Club, where Jessie Lee of San Antonio, TX put together a championship performance. After a strong start, Jessie separated herself from the field late, making four consecutive birdies on the back nine during Round 2 to claim her first career Overall Girls title. Meanwhile, the action continued in Kingsland at the Bluebonnet Classic at Legends Golf Course, where another exciting weekend of competition unfolded. Andrew Moreno II of Austin, TX continued his impressive stretch, earning his second Boys 11-14 victory in three weeks with a 1-under-par tournament score. In the Boys 15-18 Division, Marco Baima of Boerne, TX set the tone early, firing an opening-round 66 and holding onto the lead to claim his third victory of the season. Pippa Fikes of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX also shined, using an even-par opening round to secure her second Overall Girls win of the year. The Srixon Prestige Tour then headed west to San Antonio for the Boys & Girls Junior PGA Championship #2 at The Quarry Golf Course, where championship moments continued. Jordan Thomas of Spring Branch, TX came through in dramatic fashion, making par on the first playoff hole to earn his first Boys 11-14 victory of the season. In the Boys 15-18 Division, Elliot Cope of Spicewood, TX dominated the competition, finishing an incredible 12-under-par for the tournament to capture his first career victory. Jessie Lee of San Antonio, TX stayed red-hot, matching even par for the event and earning her second Overall Girls win in as many weeks. June came to a thrilling conclusion at Pebble Creek Country Club for the Summer Showdown , where players battled through another competitive championship field. Hayes Pethtel of Belton, TX used a strong opening-round 71 to claim his second Boys 11-14 victory of the season. Brody Thompson of Magnolia, TX delivered back-to-back rounds of 71 to earn his first career Boys 15-18 title, while Katelyn Davis of Kingwood, TX controlled the field from start to finish, building a five-shot advantage to capture her second career Overall Girls championship. 2026 Ben Hogan Junior Cup Captain - James Devore The Southern Texas PGA is proud to announce that James Devore has been named the 2026 Ben Hogan Team STPGA Captain. A decorated junior golfer, proven competitor, and passionate leader, James has built a strong reputation through his dedication, experience, and commitment to excellence. San Antonio, TX (June 15-16, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour made its way to San Antonio this week for the Boys & Girls Junior PGA Championship #2 at The Quarry Golf Course. While rain pushed back the start of competition on day one, players remained patient and ready to compete. Once play got underway, the field showcased impressive performances throughout the championship. Day two brought beautiful weather and ideal scoring conditions, setting the stage for a strong finish as players battled for titles and valuable points in one of the premier events of the summer season.
