2025 Spring Championship Crowns 15 New Victors

FIRST OF THREE SEASON ENDING CHAMPIONSHIPS CROWNS 15 NEW STPGA SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORS

COLLEGE STATION, TX (APRIL 26-27, 2025) - Fifteen Champions were named at the 2025 Spring Championship at The Golf Club at Texas A&M. Champions were crowned from Little Linksters and Junior Tour, and for the first time ever, the Junior Links division competed in this season ending championship! In addition to crowning our spring season champions, an incredible opportunity to qualify for the 14th Annual Texas Junior Cup Matches was on the line this weekend. Players in the 15-18 divisions of Junior Tour also had the exciting opportunity to qualify for the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship!

LITTLE LINKSTERS CHAMPIONS


Henry Nieto of Montgomery, TX earned his career best finish at a season ending championship. Carding a 38-39 for a tournament total of 77 (+5). 



Henry said, "This was a great weekend that I got to spend with my mom and dad at Texas A&M and when I got two birdies during round one that really was the icing on the cake."


Chloe Roy of Portland, TX claimed her title in the Little Linksters Girls 9-10 division. Starting off strong carding a 1-under-par, 35 during round one, followed by a 36 (E) in round two for a tournament total of 71 (-1). 


Chloe said, "I'm happy to win with my family supporting me, and I hope that this win will encourage me to continue to grow and play even better in my next event."


Teddy Sullivan of Spring, TX claimed his ninth title of the year and first ever championship victory in the Little Linksters Boys 9-10 division. After carding an impressive 1-under-par, 34 in the first round he kept the momentum finishing day two carding a 34 (E) for a tournament total of 69 (-1).


Teddy told us, "It's an honor to be here playing at a great STPGA event and to earn an exemption into the Texas Junior Cup matches will hopefully be a small part of my large future career."


Alaina Villarreal of Richmond, TX started off strong in the Little Linksters Girls 11-12 division shooting a 2-under-par, 33 followed up by a solid 35 (E) bringing her to a tournament total of 68 (-2). 


Alaina said, "This was such a great event with awesome competition, I came into it knowing I've been working hard and to not only win but to also earn the exemption into the Texas Junior Cup matches means so much to me."


Andrew Moreno II of Austin, TX clinched his first championship title in the Little Linksters Boys 11-12 division. Carding a 37-36 over the two day season ending event, he finished with a tournament total of 73 (+1).


When asked how he prepared for this event, Andrew said, "I practiced, practiced, practiced and worked super hard, it also helps to play such an awesome course."

JUNIOR LINKS CHAMPIONS


Avery Wolfe of Spring, TX earned her fifth title of the year in the Junior Links Girls 13-14 division after making her first STPGA Spring Championship appearance. Shooting a 43-47 over the two rounds for a tournament total of 90 (+18).



Wolfe spoke about The Golf Club at Texas A&M and said, "The weather has been a little crazy but I love every detail that has been put into this course because it makes it super fun, but also a great challenge."


Rolando Laurenzo of Houston, TX earned his second first place victory at a season ending championship after pulling it off back in December as well as today in the Junior Links Boys 13-14 division. He shot a 39 (+4) during round one followed by a 40 (+5) in round two for a tournament total of 79 (+9).


Laurenzo said, "This win really makes me want to keep on pushing myself. I'm proud of how I prepared for this event and hope to continue like that."


Pari Patel of Houston, TX secured her first ever championship victory and her third title of the year in the Junior Links Girls 15-18 division. Shooting a 49-53 over the course of the two rounds, she earned herself a tournament total of 92 (+20). 


Patel told us, " I loved being able to play here but it's even cooler that this is my future favorite campus (hinting at becoming an Aggie), it was an overall great weekend!"


Hezekiah Caldera of Weslaco, TX pulled off an impressive victory after an intense playoff in the Junior Links Boys 15-18 division. After carding a 42-43 over the two day event, he earned himself a tournament total of 85 (+15).


When asked what this win is to him, Caldera said, "It's a pretty big motivator for me, I've been on a bit of a dry streak lately which makes this win even sweeter."

JUNIOR TOUR CHAMPIONS


Jessie Lee of San Antonio, TX secured her victory in the Junior Tour Girls 11-12 division after an impressive showcase of her skills over the two rounds. Lee carded a 3-under-par, 68 in the first round and didn't slow down in the second finishing it with a 2-under-par, 69 for a tournament total of 137 (-5). Her performance also earned her a spot on #TEAMSTPGA at this years Texas Junior Cup Matches.



When asked about her exemption Lee said, "It means a lot to me to follow in my sisters footsteps by playing that event and to be able to represent the STPGA again!"


Reed Rodriguez of Sienna, TX earned his second season ending championship victory, this year in the Junior Tour Boys 11-12 division with a  73 (+2) the first round followed by a 74 (+3) the second round for a tournament total of 147 (+5). 


When asked about how he prepared for this championship Rodriguez says, "I've been working on my putting a lot because I knew it would come into play and it paid off in points in the round"


Carly Hathorn of Missouri City, TX earned her spot and her fourth title of the year in the Junior Tour Girls 13-14 division! Hathorn shot a 75-83 throughout the two rounds for a tournament total of 158 (+16). 


Hathorn said, "This win means a lot to me because I have been preparing for it since last August, I wasn't able to participate in the Fall Championship so this one just meant that much more to me."


Tyler Fasulo of Lumberton, TX brought home the hardware with his first season championship win in the Junior Tour Boys 13-14 division. After carding a 74-73 over the two rounds he finished with a tournament total of 147 (+5).


Fasulo said, "My favorite part of this weekend definitely has to be the environment, to be able to see Kyle Field and hear all the sounds coming from campus makes it really special to be here at Texas A&M."


Mary Jane Philpott of Georgetown, TX came out on top of the Junior Tour Girls 15-18 division shooting a 88-82 over the two day event for a tournament total of 170 (+28). Philpott also earned herself an exemption into the Prestige Tour Insperity Invitational Tour Championship!


Mary Jane said, "It was amazing to be able to play this weekend and meet a bunch of girls I had never met and make new friends! It's always great having the opportunity to play against new opponents."


Mau Solar of Edinburg, TX finally secured his Junior Tour Boys 15-18 championship title after coming in a close second in his division at the 2024 Fall Championship. Shooting a 2-under-par, 69 and following it up with a 75 (+4), he earned himself a tournament total of 144 (+2).


Solar told us, "This win means a lot to me because I came close at the Fall Championship and it was tough, but to finally earn this with such amazing competitors and my family around me is incredible."

Along with being able to compete for the coveted title of Spring Season Champion, juniors in the Little Linksters and Junior Tour divisions also had the opportunity to qualify to play in the 14th annual Texas Junior Cup Matches and the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship. Those who earned these exemptions are:

Elite junior golfers from Southern Texas and Louisiana will have the opportunity to compete at the event. SPRING, TX (January 28, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA is proud to announce the return of The Bayou Cup for the second year as Team STPGA looks to bring the trophy to Southern Texas for the first time. The 2026 matches, presented by Srixon and Adidas, will be hosted once again at Big Easy Ranch from December 4-6, providing a championship-caliber stage and unforgettable experience for top junior golfers. Held in partnership with the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour and the Gulf States PGA, the event features a Ryder Cup-style format designed to challenge elite players through team competition. Each team consists of 12 junior golfers from each tour with representatives from three age divisions: Boys 15-18, Girls 11-18, and Boys 11-14. Team STPGA will be formed through standout performances by golfers at Srixon Prestige Tour tournaments from late July to September. Good Evening Players, Parents, & Family Friends, Upsets, buzzer-beaters, and comebacks. The real March Madness happened right here on the Srixon Prestige Tour. Srixon Prestige Tour Champions - March March began in San Antonio at the Hill Country Open , where players battled not just the course, but relentless weather delays. Rising above it all, Brody Tharp of Horseshoe Bay, TX captured his first Boys 11–14 title with a gritty 1-under 71. Diego Amour of McAllen, TX edged out a tightly packed leaderboard to claim his first Boys 15–18 victory, while Addison Braden of San Antonio, TX set the tone early with a 75 to secure her first Overall Girls win of the year. The momentum carried east to Katy for the Spring Break Classic , and the fireworks only intensified. Mason Hwang of Houston, TX staged an incredible comeback, erasing a three-shot deficit before clutching a playoff victory for his first Boys 11-14 title. Hudson Rankin, a hometown standout from Katy, TX, fired a brilliant second-round 69 to earn his first Boys 15–18 win. Meanwhile, Esther Li of Houston, TX delivered a jaw-dropping performance, going 5-under par to notch her second Overall Girls victory of the season. From there, the Tour headed west to Spicewood for the Shootout in the Hills —and lived up to its name. Trevor Lane of Leander, TX broke through with a stellar Second Round 67 to earn his first Boys 11-14 win, while Brady Shelton of Spicewood, TX used a Second Round 69 to cruise to a three-shot Boys 15-18 victory. Francie Martin of Austin, TX added to the excitement, closing strong with a 72 to claim her first career Overall Girls title. At the same time in Cypress, the Rocket City Open brought even more drama. Griffin Domingues of Houston, TX mounted a clutch comeback, using a final-round 76 to overcome a one shot deficit and grab his first win. Jace Beverly of Montgomery, TX kept his composure under pressure, sealing his Boys 15–18 victory with a par in a playoff. Sophia Liu of Sugar Land, TX dominated from start to finish, going wire-to-wire for her first Overall Girls win of the year—and third of her career. The Tour then rolled into Lake Charles for the Visit Lake Charles Spring Classic , where dominant performances stole the spotlight. Landon Lotz of Slidell, LA ran away with a commanding nine-shot Boys 11-14 victory, while Wayne Kabrich of Mandeville, LA held off a late charge to secure his first Boys 15-18 win. Grace Goodwin of Bossier City, LA surged up the leaderboard with a strong closing 72 to earn her first Overall Girls crown. March wrapped up in style in south Houston at the Golf Performance Group Houston Junior Classic , delivering one final burst of excitement. Mason Hwang of Houston, TX struck again, capturing his second Boys 11-14 title of the month with an incredible 5-under Second Round performance. Adrian Bowers of Pearland, TX rallied from two shots back with a clutch 71 to earn his first Boys 15-18 win of the year. And Emily Zhang of Houston, TX set the pace early with a blazing front-nine 34—never looking back as she cruised to her second career Overall Girls victory.
