Eleven Champions Named at 2020 STPGA Junior Championship

Eleven champions were named at the 2020 STPGA Junior Championship at The Woodlands Country Club (Palmer Course). Presented by AHEAD and Sam Houston State University’s PGA Golf Management Program, this year’s field was one of the largest this annual event has seen bringing in more than 270 junior golfers ages 6-18 from across Southern Texas.
This year’s Championship took place on Wednesday, August 5th – Thursday, August 6th. Over these two days, players in the Little Linksters program played a total of 18-holes on the Deacon Course and Junior Tour players competed over 36-holes on the King and General Courses.
In the Little Linksters Co-Ed 6-8 Division, Carter Hoskins of Corpus Christi claimed the Championship title with an even-to-par score of 72, defeating the Round One leader, Tristan Panyanouvong of Tomball who came in second place at 74 (+2).
“It feels really good to win,” said Hoskins. “I’ve been working hard towards this all summer long.” The Little Linksters Girls 9-10 Division saw Kingwood’s Katelyn Davis make a comeback from two spots back to capture the win with a two-day total of 77 (+5).
“This is for my grandpa who recently passed away,” said Davis. “This win is for him.” JP Lynch of Austin was able to hold on to his Round One lead in the Little Linksters Boys 9-10 Division claiming the title after shooting rounds of 34-35 for a two-day total of 69 (-3).
“This was my first tournament where I was able to shoot both rounds under par,” said Lynch. “It’s a really nice feeling.”
“It feels really good to win,” said Hoskins. “I’ve been working hard towards this all summer long.” The Little Linksters Girls 9-10 Division saw Kingwood’s Katelyn Davis make a comeback from two spots back to capture the win with a two-day total of 77 (+5).

In addition to the 2020 Junior Championship titles, the 6 remaining spots on the Texas Junior Cup Matches STPGA team were up for grabs at this year’s event. The first-place finishers of the Little Linksters Girls and Boys 11-12 Divisions and the top two finishers in the Junior Tour Girls and Boys 11-12 Division earned their spots on the 2020 STPGA team.
Jules Mahan of San Antonio defeated fellow San Antonian, Michelle Lee in a sudden-death playoff after both carded a 69 (-3), earning her the Junior Championship title as well as a spot on the Texas Junior Cup team. Lee, who earned her exemption earlier this year, will also be playing on Team STPGA at the Matches in September.
“I worked hard for this,” said Mahan. “It was fun playing with Michelle today, I can’t wait to play with her again.”
The Little Linksters Boys 11-12 Division also saw a sudden-death playoff when Mont Belvieu’s Brent Mauer tied with Jackson Sledzik of Needville at 74 (+2). Mauer was victorious in the playoff taking home the Championship title and invitation to the Matches.
O n the Junior Tour side of the tournament, the other four Texas Junior Cup Matches exemptions were earned. The first two being awarded in the Girls 11-12 Division to Syna Nijhawan of Houston and Tangia Gan of The Woodlands. Nijhawan was the first-place winner with a 36-hole total of 152 (+8); runner-up, Gan carded 158 (+14).
“It feels really good to see my hard work paying off,” said Nijhawan.

In the Junior Tour Boys 11-12 Division, Houston’s Austin Le finished at the top with a final score of 140 (-4). Le, who had already earned his exemption into the Matches will be joined by second and third Austinite finishers Kaden Frierson and Luciano Follmer, respectively.
Kingwood’s Khloe Jones was crowned the Junior Tour Girls 13-14 Division winner after shooting one-over-par during Round Two to overcome Round One leader Kenna Lee of Bellaire with a final score of 147 (+3). Lee finished the tournament in second place at 151 (+7).
Shiv Parmar of Selma captured the Junior Tour Boys 13-14 Division win after shooting a 36-hole total of 145 (+1). Coming into the final round, Parmar was tied for second place.
“It feels great to finish on top when you’re playing against a group of really good players,” said Parmar.

San Antonio native, Julia Vollmer claimed the Junior Tour Girls 15-18 Division title for the second year in a row after carding an impressive 6-under-par total of 138.
“It was hot, but we powered through,” said Vollmer. “There was a lot of really good playing today.”
2019 STPGA Junior Golfer of the Year, Ty Roberts of Cibolo celebrated his 119th STPGA Junior Golf tournament win after coming in at the top of the Junior Tour Boys 15-18 Division leaderboard with a two-day total of 137 (-7). Roberts, who had previously claimed titles at the STPGA Spring and Fall Series Championships sought the 2020 Junior Championship win to complete his Championship “set”.

Cypress, TX (March 16-17, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour continued its spring season with the Rocket City Open, held March 16–17, as junior golfers took on a competitive field in another exciting Monday–Tuesday event. Battling through challenging conditions, players faced strong winds and cold temperatures that tested their resilience and shot-making across both rounds. Katy, TX (March 9-10, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour held its first Monday-Tuesday event of the year with the 2026 Spring Break Classic at The Club at Falcon Point. Junior golfers experienced beautiful weather and course conditions and had strong performances through two rounds of golf. San Antonio, TX (March 7-8, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to San Antonio this past weekend for the Hill Country Open , held March 7–8 at the Hill Country Golf Club. Despite rainy and challenging weather conditions, junior golfers showed great determination during the tournament. Due to the weather, the event was only able to complete the first round, but players still delivered a strong day of competitive golf, making it another memorable stop on the 2026 Srixon Prestige Tour. Congratulations to Lia Beyer, and our Boys 15-18 Champion, Diego Amour for earning an invite to the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship , hosted at Boot Ranch on July 20–21, 2026!
