FRIERSON AND LAN ARE CROWNED CHAMPIONS AT THE FIRST EVER INSPERITY INVITATIONAL TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP!

April 27, 2026 • Southern Texas PGA

SPICEWOOD, TEXAS (August 6, 2024) - The inaugural Insperity Invitational Tour Championship hosted by the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour took place the past two days at Barton Creek Country Club (Palmer Lakeside) in Spicewood, Texas. This new event was announced last year to reward the success of the many junior golfers on the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour throughout the year and bring the best of the best together! The 57-player field consisted of 32 Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour winners and 11 college commits.

With the connection between the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour and Legends Junior Tour, the players were competing for more than just the opportunity to call themselves Tour Champions. The boys and girls winner earned themselves Fully Exempt Status on the Legends Junior Tour starting in September and running through next summer!

After an incredible six birdies in her first round, Bowen Lan gave herself a three stroke lead heading into the final day. Brielle Burns would force a playoff following a fantastic second round of 69 (-2), but Lan emerged victorious following a birdie on the first hole of the playoff to be crowned your 2024 Insperity Invitational Girls 13-18 Champion!

It felt like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders when that putt fell on 18 to send it to a playoff. I didn't have the best round putting wise and when I made the putt I fist pumped and was so hyped."

The Boys 13-18 Division would see a similar feat with Ryan Lee carding 7 birdies for his first round. He would be sitting at 68 (-3) with only a two stroke lead. The Boys division would be setup for a fierce finish with the Top 10 being separated only by three strokes.

An impressive finish by Kaden Frierson would earn him the victory with a tournament total of 70-68–138 (-4). Frierson expressed the feeling of walking away victorious and how he handled the heat of the competition.

"I made a putt on hole 9 that swung the momentum my way. It was about a 25-footer and I hit it right into the heart of the cup. I carried that momentum into the back nine and thankfully walked away with a win" said Frierson.

The STPGA would like to thank our title sponsor, the Insperity Invitational, as they continue to demonstrate their devotion to growing the game of golf in Southern Texas and being more than just the best event on PGA TOUR Champions!

We would like to thank Head Professional, Casey Neal, and his entire team at Barton Creek Country Club for allowing us to give our players this once in a lifetime opportunity!

We also want to thank the title partners of the Prestige Tour, Srixon and Billiard Factory, as no event would be possible without them!

Partnership centered around impacting the next generation through grants, scholarships, and a showcase junior golf event. San Antonio, TX (April 17, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA could not be more excited to continue our partnership with former STPGA Junior Golfer and World Class Professional Golfer Abraham Ancer. Started in 2024, the relationship features the Abraham Ancer Classic on the Srixon Prestige Tour, College Scholarships, and money awarded specifically to families to help introduce golf to the next generation. “This is a full circle moment for the STPGA,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director for the STPGA. “From growing up in our program in The Valley to supporting the program financially, we are extremely grateful for his time, investment, and motivation towards helping the next generation.” The third Annual Abraham Ancer Classic will be adding a new chapter in November, when the event visits the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, TX, after being played the last two years at Oak Hills Country Club. The event will be held during Thanksgiving week on November 23-24 and will be the STPGA’s first time hosting a junior golf event at Cordillera Ranch, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, ranked among the best in the State! “The STPGA does an awesome job growing the game, providing scholarships, and running high quality events,” said Ancer who was born in McAllen, TX and raised in Reynosa, Mexico. Ancer grew up playing at Reynosa Country Club and traveled to Southern Texas to compete in STPGA events, where he was the STPGA Valley Area Champion for his division in 2005. “I feel it is only right to give back, get engaged with the next generation, and make a difference!” In addition, Abraham will continue to support our College Scholarship Program and our Dick Harmon Participation Grant. This ties together his value in helping people with their education and then introducing the game to people that might not be able to afford tournament golf! The STPGA appreciates Abraham Ancer’s time and commitment and look forward to an awesome year together!
