Victoria, TX (October 19-20 2024) - This past weekend the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour hosted the VCVB South Texas Showcase at Victoria Country Club. Both winners secured their first-ever Prestige Tour victories after two windy rounds of golf!
Mattie Purgahn from Lake Charles, LA, captured her first Prestige Tour title with a resilient performance. She opened with an even-par (E) 72 in the first round and followed with a challenging (+7) 79 in the second round, finishing with a total of 151 strokes. Despite the tough second round, Mattie’s 7 birdies across the tournament helped her seal the win and earn an exemption to the 2025 Texas Girls Invitational!
Brock Talamantez from Portland, TX, also claimed his first Prestige Tour win at Victoria Country Club. He started with a (+3) 75 in the first round but bounced back with an impressive (-1) 71 in the second, finishing with a total score of 146 strokes. Brock had 6 birdies over the weekend and he secured his victory and an exemption to the 2025 Texas Cup Invitational!
