Houston, TX (June 10-11, 2024) - This week the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour hosted the Boys Southern Texas Jr PGA Championship #1 at Wildcat Golf Club (Highlands Course). Both of our champions added outstandingly low numbers to their scorecards, ultimately leading them to victory!
Jackson Funkhouser from College Station, TX came out at the top with a two shot lead! He set himself apart from the field the first day shooting a (-7) 65, including an eagle on 12. He capitalized on his lead on day two, putting six birdies on the card ending with a score of (-3) 69. Funkhouser finished off a great tournament with his overall score coming out to (-10) 134. This win got him a spot at the 2024 Texas Junior Amateur, George Hannon Invitational, 2024 Boys Junior PGA Championship and 2024 Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches!
Anthony Butt from The Woodlands, TX earned his second Prestige Tour win for the 13-14 age division this 2024 season! He started off with six birdies shooting a solid (-4) 68 on day one. He was able to stay under par into day two by shooting a (-1) 71, putting three birdies on the card. Over the course of the tournament, Butt ended in fifth place overall with a total score of (-5) 139.
