VICTORIA, TEXAS (October 22–23, 2022) - The South Texas Showcase was held this past weekend at Victoria Country Club. Over 70 Prestige tour players teed it up in Victoria with their eyes set on taking home some hardware.
In the overall girls division, Dresden Bounds of San Antonio, fired an even par 72 to separate herself from the pack, giving her a four stroke advantage heading into Sunday. Bounds followed up her first round score with another consecutive round of (E) 72 to capture the title by eight shots. Bounds led the entire field in pars, where 27 out of the 36 holes she played this past weekend were pars. This was Bounds’ third Prestige Tour victory this season, as well as her 66th win while playing with the STPGA since 2016.
In the overall boys division, it took a stellar (-3) 69 from John Solis of Laredo, Texas to complete his come from behind victory. After round one, Solis found himself three shots off the leader after shooting a (+2) 74. On Sunday, Solis poured in five birdies and an eagle on his way to break through for his first Prestige Tour victory of the year. Solis placed in the top-5 17 times while playing with the STPGA since 2018, 6 of those times finishing on top of the leaderboard.
