PT Recap: Sunshine and Swing Challenge

San Antonio, TX (July 13-14, 2026) – Despite the Sunshine and Swing Challenge living up to only half of its name, junior golfers battled through the weather at Hill Country Golf Club in San Antonio for two days of outstanding competition. A talented field showcased resilience, determination, and impressive play in the pursuit of championship titles.


In addition to the champions, four players secured the final spots in the 2026 The Insperity Tour Championship for the Srixon Prestige Tour through the Last Chance Qualifier during Round 1. Fletcher Whiting, Myles Malek, Ava Frazier, and Addison McCullough earned invitations with strong performances, punching their tickets to the season-ending championship and completing the Tour Championship field.

Marco Baima Claims Boys 15–18 Title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge


Marco Baima continued his dominant season on the Srixon Prestige Tour, capturing the Boys 15-18 title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge at Hill Country Golf Club. Baima secured his fourth Srixon Prestige Tour victory of the year, pulling away from the field to win by an impressive six strokes. Already fully exempt on the Legends Junior Tour, he added another accomplishment to his standout season by earning an exemption into the 2026 Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational with his victory.

Ava Frazier Claims Girls 15-18 & Overall Title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge


Ava Frazier put together a dominant performance at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge, capturing both the Girls 15-18 Division and Overall title at Hill Country Golf Club. Frazier cruised to a commanding 12-stroke victory, showcasing her consistency and talent throughout the tournament. With the win, she earned an exemption into the 2026 Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational, hosted by the Legends Junior Tour, and secured an invitation to compete in the 2026 Insperity Tour Championship.

Oliver Stordal Claims Boys 11-14 Title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge


Oliver Stordal rallied from behind to capture the Boys 11-14 title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge at Hill Country Golf Club. After opening the tournament in third place with a first-round 76, Stordal battled back with a 74 in the final round to force a three-way playoff. He sealed the victory on the second playoff hole, earning a hard-fought championship in one of the weekend's most exciting finishes.

Abby Praytor Claims Girls 11-14 Title at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge


Abby Praytor captured her second Srixon Prestige Tour Girls 11-14 victory of the season after a thrilling finish at the Sunshine and Swing Challenge. Praytor led the field after the opening round and held on through the final day, finishing tied for the lead before clinching the championship in a playoff. Her steady play and composure under pressure earned her another Prestige Tour title in an exciting conclusion to the tournament.

New Braunfels, TX (August 15-16, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to New Braunfels, Texas, for the Surf & Turf New Braunfels Showcase at Landa Park Golf Course, where players took on a competitive two-day championship. With great weather throughout the event, the field had ideal conditions to showcase their skills and battle for the top spots. Players delivered strong performances from start to finish, with steady play and impressive moments shaping the leaderboard across both rounds. As the competition came down to the final holes, the talented field once again showcased the skill, determination and competitive spirit that define the Srixon Prestige Tour. Spring, TX - Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of golf ahead at the Southern Texas PGA! With opportunities to qualify for Team STPGA, championship events, Drive, Chip & Putt competition and more than 100 events remaining across STPGA Junior Golf programs, the fall season is set to be an exciting one. Qualify for the Bayou Cup The road to the Bayou Cup continues this fall as junior golfers compete for the opportunity to represent Team STPGA. Players still have opportunities to earn their spot and compete alongside some of the top junior golfers in Southern Texas. Below are the upcoming events where players can earn an exemption toward a spot on Team STPGA for this year’s Bayou Cup. Cypress, TX (August 10-11, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour stayed in Houston for the STPGA Challenge at BlackHorse Golf Club, where players took on a competitive two-day championship. Round one brought challenging conditions and rain delays, but the field remained focused and made the most of every opportunity once play resumed. Despite the interruptions, players delivered strong performances throughout the opening round before returning for day two ready to finish strong. From steady play to clutch moments down the stretch, the talented field once again showcased the resilience and determination that define the Srixon Prestige Tour.
