The STPGA will announce exemptions, the location, and date for the 2024 event later this fall. The goal with this new event is to showcase our event winners, high point list achieves, and provide a world class experience at a great facility.

“We could not be more excited to offer these new opportunities to STPGA Junior Golfers,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director of the STPGA. “The Insperity Invitational is one of our most tenured partners, dating back to 2007, and these new elements continue to showcase their desire and support to help impact the next generation of junior golfers!”

In addition, the Insperity Invitational will also commence a new college scholarship through the STPGA’s Scholarship Program. At next year’s event, 1 Boy and 1 Girl from the STPGA will receive the first ever Insperity Invitational College Scholarship, each worth $10,000 to continue their educational aspirations. More details on the criteria will be announced when the 2024 STPGA Scholarship Program opens for applications in January.

Today’s announcement also includes the continued opportunity for STPGA Junior Golfers to earn a spot in the annual Junior Pro-Am that will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. This Junior Pro-Am is where 36 STPGA junior golfers will enjoy the experience of a lifetime playing 9-holes with a PGA TOUR Champions Professional. 2024 will mark the 18th time STPGA Junior Golfers will earn an exemption into this great event at The Woodlands CC - Tournament Course.

“While we are committed to giving back to the community, our PGA TOUR Champions players also see great value in supporting the Junior Pro-Am and have a ton of fun playing with the STPGA Junior Golfers!” added Naugle.

Outside of the Insperity Invitational Points List, exemptions into the Junior Pro-Am will be given out at the PGA TOUR Superstore Fall Championship by division during both the Junior Tour and Little Linksters Championships. This year’s Fall Championships will take place at Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club in San Antonio, TX December 9-10, 2023. Good luck to all of the juniors this fall trying to earn a spot in the PGA TOUR Superstore Fall Championship and with 10 Prestige Tour events left this year, we are excited to see who will be crowned our 2023 Insperity Invitational Points List winners!

Partnership centered around impacting the next generation through grants, scholarships, and a showcase junior golf event. San Antonio, TX (April 17, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA could not be more excited to continue our partnership with former STPGA Junior Golfer and World Class Professional Golfer Abraham Ancer. Started in 2024, the relationship features the Abraham Ancer Classic on the Srixon Prestige Tour, College Scholarships, and money awarded specifically to families to help introduce golf to the next generation. “This is a full circle moment for the STPGA,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director for the STPGA. “From growing up in our program in The Valley to supporting the program financially, we are extremely grateful for his time, investment, and motivation towards helping the next generation.” The third Annual Abraham Ancer Classic will be adding a new chapter in November, when the event visits the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, TX, after being played the last two years at Oak Hills Country Club. The event will be held during Thanksgiving week on November 23-24 and will be the STPGA’s first time hosting a junior golf event at Cordillera Ranch, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, ranked among the best in the State! “The STPGA does an awesome job growing the game, providing scholarships, and running high quality events,” said Ancer who was born in McAllen, TX and raised in Reynosa, Mexico. Ancer grew up playing at Reynosa Country Club and traveled to Southern Texas to compete in STPGA events, where he was the STPGA Valley Area Champion for his division in 2005. “I feel it is only right to give back, get engaged with the next generation, and make a difference!” In addition, Abraham will continue to support our College Scholarship Program and our Dick Harmon Participation Grant. This ties together his value in helping people with their education and then introducing the game to people that might not be able to afford tournament golf! The STPGA appreciates Abraham Ancer’s time and commitment and look forward to an awesome year together!
