PT Recap: Classic Chevy Sugarland & Classic Chevy HWY 6 H-Town Showdown

CYPRESS, TEXAS (August 26-27, 2023) - The Srixon Billiard Prestige Tour hosted the Classic Chevy HWY 6 & Classic Chevy Sugar Land H-Town Showdown took place at BlackHorse Golf Club in Cypress this past weekend. With 141 golfers, only 4 have the opportunity to consider themselves champions.

In the Overall Girls Division, Peyton DeBruin of Houston and Mary Kerr of Friendswood remained tied at 151 (+7) after Round 2. The two went back out on to the course to compete in a sudden death playoff. DeBruin, falling short in a previous sudden death playoff in early-June, walked away victorious after recording a birdie in the first hole of the playoff. Peyton DeBruin has earned an exemption into the Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational in late-October at Sulphur Springs Country Club. This is Peyton's second Prestige Tour win since joining the STPGA in 2014.

In the Overall Boys Division, Bennett Kuhns of Austin made a strong surge up the leaderboard in Round 2 after posting a 73 (+1) in Round 1. Kuhns carded five birdies and one bogey in Round 2 to shoot a 68 (-4) in Round 2 making him the overall champion with a 2-stroke lead over Boys 15-18 Champion, Julius Arenkiel. Kuhns, having already earned the exemption into the Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational, will be accompanied by Arenkiel at the Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational in late-October at Sulphur Springs Country Club as he finished in second in the Overall division. This is Bennett's third win on the Prestige Tour in 2023 and fourth since joining the STPGA in 2017.

Cypress, TX (March 16-17, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour continued its spring season with the Rocket City Open, held March 16–17, as junior golfers took on a competitive field in another exciting Monday–Tuesday event. Battling through challenging conditions, players faced strong winds and cold temperatures that tested their resilience and shot-making across both rounds. Despite the harsh weather, the event showcased incredible determination and high-level play from start to finish. San Antonio, TX (March 7-8, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour traveled to San Antonio this past weekend for the Hill Country Open , held March 7–8 at the Hill Country Golf Club. Despite rainy and challenging weather conditions, junior golfers showed great determination during the tournament. Due to the weather, the event was only able to complete the first round, but players still delivered a strong day of competitive golf, making it another memorable stop on the 2026 Srixon Prestige Tour. Congratulations to Lia Beyer, and our Boys 15-18 Champion, Diego Amour for earning an invite to the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship , hosted at Boot Ranch on July 20–21, 2026!
