SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (June 26-27, 2023) – The Boys Southern Texas Jr. PGA Championship #2 was held this week at The Quarry Golf Course. A total of 123 golfers teed up for the Srixon Billiard Factory Prestige Tour for two days of exciting golf.

In the 15-18 Boys Division, Preston Hiller of San Antonio, established himself as a leader in the first round. Shooting a Round One (-3) 68, Preston was locked in a six-way tie for fifth going into the final round with a three-stroke deficit from the lead. Preston finished carding a remarkable tournament total of (-9) 133, ending the tour with 12 birdies. After claiming the overall division title, he earned an exemption into the 2023 Boys Junior PGA Championship at Hot Springs Country Club in August. He also earned an exemption into the 2023 Texas Junior Amateur as well as the 2023 George Hannon Junior Invitational in Austin. This was Preston’s first ever Prestige Tour victory after 10 top 10 finishes since joining the STPGA in 2018.

In the 13-14 Boys Division, Mason An of Houston, went home a champion after a five-hole playoff. Finishing Round One with a (-3) 68, he placed himself in the lead early. Mason shot a tournament total of (-2) 140 including three birdies in a row on holes 16, 17 and 18, sending himself into a playoff with Gavin Hymer of San Antonio. The two continued to battle until Mason took the edge with a par on hole 15. This was Mason’s third Prestige Tour victory, with nine top 10 finishes since joining the STPGA in 2018.
Notable highlights include Gabriel Lomas, Jonathan Kim, Heuiseung Kim and Preston Hiller who all recorded an eagle. In addition, multiple players scored three birdies in a row throughout the tournament.
